A VPS S plan has enough CPU for WireGuard for a family or a small team. This is not a reseller VPN with thousands of users.
An exit country you choose
The server's country is the country websites see. Pick it for the audience and for the law, using the location pages.
Bandwidth without a per-GB line item
VPS bandwidth is unmetered in the sense that we don't bill per gigabyte. A port still can't be saturated indefinitely. A personal VPN doesn't come close to that.

Keep logs off
WireGuard doesn't log peers by default. Leave it that way, and shorten journald retention if you don't need the history.

- A self-hosted VPN hides you from the local cafe network. It does not hide you from a service you then log into under your own name.
- Back up the client configs. We don't keep a copy of your keys.

Do you log VPN sessions?
We don't log your server's traffic. Your own operating system logs what you configure it to log.
Can I run OpenVPN instead?
Yes. WireGuard is the guide we publish because it is shorter. OpenVPN works on the same VPS if you prefer it.
