How to choose a hosting jurisdiction

A practical framework for picking a country for your server: threat model, audience location and budget.

1. Start from the threat model

Write down who might want the server offline, or want the data on it. A copyright troll, a foreign government, a payment processor and an angry ex-host are different problems.

The country changes which courts can issue an order we will follow. It does not make the server invisible, and it does not make illegal content legal.

2. Then look at the audience

Latency follows geography. Readers in Latin America will feel Panama long before they feel Moldova. European apps usually land on the Netherlands or Romania.

The latency figures on each location page are planning ranges. They are not a live probe from your laptop.

3. Accept that every country has courts

Choosing a jurisdiction is about whose law applies and how a complaint is processed. It is not an exit from law.

Romania and the Netherlands are in the EU. Iceland is in the EEA. Switzerland, Panama, Moldova and Russia are outside the EU, and each of those pages lists a consideration you should actually read. Clearly illegal content is removed everywhere we operate.

4. Price is a real input

Moldova and Russia are the inexpensive end. Switzerland and Iceland cost more and are the ones publishers read first. A country you can't afford to renew is not a resilience plan.

Term discounts, up to 50% on an annual prepay, apply in every country. They don't change the relative price between countries.

5. Spread anything you can't afford to lose

Put the primary in one country and a mirror in another, with DNS you control. One order, or one network problem, then can't take every copy offline.

Two servers in the same location are not that plan.

6. Use the selector, then read the page

The jurisdiction selector turns five answers into a ranked shortlist. Treat the result as a reading list. Open the location page and read the considerations before you pay.

GPU plans exist only in Iceland, Romania, Switzerland and the Netherlands. If the workload needs a GPU, say so in the selector or you will be recommended a country that can't run it.

Abrechnung in Krypto

Bezahle in BTC, ETH, USDT, USDC, LTC, DOGE, TRX, SOL, BNB, XRP, BCH.

Island, Panama, Moldau, Rumänien, Schweiz, Niederlande, Russland.
